How many God's exist today?
I really do not know.
How many God's are loved by men,
For treasures they bestow.

How I remember my first God,
The things that he could do.
How much I loved to hold him near,
His power seamed so true.

I never got enough of him,
But oh how hard I tried.
I worked for him and schemed for him,
I cheated and I lied.

For every bit of him I got,
Belonged to me myself.
Oh how I loved this earthly God,
The one that men call wealth.

He did not bring me inner peace,
In fact there was no rest.
He did not offer health or life.
No feeling I was blessed.

He hated me, I loved him so,
A one side love affair.
When all he took from me was gone,
He did not even care.

Yet I still lived my life in fear,
To worry every day,
Because I knew that any man,
Could steal my God away.

One day I came to realize,
Perhaps a little late.
My God was really nothing more,
Than selfish greed and hate.

That day when I met Jesus,
Who's life is living proof,
That my Father up in heaven,
Has loved me from my youth.

I found a God more powerful,
Than any dollar bill,
And all I need to claim that love,
Is strength to do his will.

No need to toil or sweat for him,
Just bow my head and pray.
For now no man can will or scheme,
To steal my God away.

What joy to rest with peace of mind.
No pain or hurt or strife.
Just unending love forever.
With him eternal life.

That's good that you say nobody can take Jesus's love away; Many religious people these days get paranoid that atheists are merely Satan's voices roaming about attempting to steal their beliefs away. The same goes for the government, but it's usually based on misinformation.
