Array ( [sid] => 180781 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Oh My Mother [time] => 2015-03-15 13:24:03 [hometext] => It's Mothers' Day! I celebrate my Mom, my Queen and my priceless jewel. This also goes out to all the beautiful mothers out there. [bodytext] => My mother
My mother
When I was small and numb
So soft she watch me cry
When sick and I can't express
She never left my side
Weeping for fear I might die
Praying to God I'm spared
Oh my mother

She never sleeps
Always found toiling
There when I'm awake
Still there when I hit the pillows
Mornings she combs my hair
Singing me motivations
So i feel the joy of schooling
Oh my mother

So magical it seems
I always saw food in my lunch box
I wonder how it remained constant
Like I always speak with a genie
Never tired of meeting my needs
Oh my mother

So harsh she becomes sometimes
Just like Psalm 23
Her rod to correct
Her staff to guide
Her words the staff, her spanks the rod
setting my brains to default
Anytime like a PC it crashed
Oh my mother

Always there
listening to my rants
myriads of complaints
Never weary of my quests
Never tired of my troubles
Oh my mother

Her smile my comfort
Even when she cried behind doors
She still shows her beautiful teeth
Smiling like there are no pains
Just to make me feel fly.
Oh my mother

From her good desires
She choose depravity
In exchange for a good life for me
oh my mother

Once she raised her voice
Looking into my threatened eyes
She broke down afterwards
Feeling she hurts my feelings
I could read her mind
Oh my mother

Never remembering her care
At puberty I became unruly
She cried at my insensitivity
Stopped the rod
Stuck with the staff
A lost sheep to be brought back home
Awwwn she loves me

Suddenly I'm a grown up
She told me about her struggles
Felt her pains like siamese twins connected by brain. Just like Tupac
I finally understand
it ain't easy for a woman trying to raise a man
Oh my mother

So many women in the world
So few the 'mothers'
Praising HIM I've got the best
Oh my mother

I love you from the abyss of my heart
You are one in a billion
My priceless jewel
A Queen who raised me
Teaching me to treat my wife like a princess
oh my mother

Trust me Mom
I'll always keep that smile on your face.
I pray to the Supreme each day
To bless and keep you for me
So I can pay you a million folds
And make you smile till your hairs turn grey
and death do us part.

I am guessing English is not your first language, so extra points for a poem nicely written.

This brought a smile.

Thanks,

Tim
