Yesterday's anger stood not in its way
Feelings that threatened life to demolish
Gleam with a hint of tomorrow's polish

Life's hard no matter where it's stage
So often fired with bouts of angry rage
Laughter's drowned within hate's frame
Souls neither win nor lose a senseless game

When thoughts are spent on what has been
Worrying whether they were fiend or friend
Time becomes lost in a frenzy of deep emotion
As hope's buried whilst seeking love's devotion

Yet hidden amongst these dark dank dreams
Lies a golden heartbeat that defiantly beams
Know the stars above are but a breath away
Tomorrow's not promised nor is one more day

Time dances on to a whimsical dainty beat
Life trips along on mismatched clumsy feet
Hope reigns high in a child's precious smile
Alive with promises begging us to stay awhile

Face the morrow knowing yesterday's faded
A story destined to be told with smiles jaded
Whatever words are the last to be faintly penned
Life's to be lived no matter how the story ends [comments] => 4 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 48 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

That is an excellent poem. Sadly, our past does sometimes haunt us.

Hi there

Yes there is always hope, and there will also always be competition between good and bad. Tomorrow will be haunted by yesterday unless we let go. Love can be just what we need to carry us through life love for God others and our self. This is a very good poem so much feeling and emotion on all levels is in it. I agree with Nessa this is by far your best work. God bless
Greetings
Rus
