When my cup overfloweth;
Gratitude. And I show it,
Some days love feels sleazier

Some nights haunt me more than others
Nagging thoughts of something amiss-
Barely realized; yet soon dismissed,
Silenced screams under the covers

Breath stealing terror so real
Impending doom, all consumes,
Dry heaving in the bathroom,
Chilled tentacles I can feel

"Don't touch me!" Inconsolable.
In a stage of grief born of fears,
Wild sobs to compliment the tears,
While shaking uncontrollable

Gripped by a murky nightmare,
Nocturnal eyes start to clear,
The answer lay buried near-

(Psychological warfare).

Is it possible your poems just keep getting better and better than the last? Yeps!

So much going on here but what it felt like the most to me...my almost daily morning panic attacks being described to a tee...or is that "T"? Whatever, you get me. :)

This has a wow factor of 112.

One of the most genuine poems I've read of yours. You sure have a knack for brining your readers along for the terrifying ride . I appreciate your honesty and envy your talent . On a seperate , but related note , thank you for all your kind words . I know you will be more than fine , these dreams will dissipate, your life is destined for happiness . Take it from a nonbeliever.

I find this poem surprising. It has its own ways of being abstract and straightforward at the same time. It's strange, and difficult to explain.
Is this a heartfelt poem as well, in the sense that you yourself experience PTSD? Because if so, I'm truly sorry. It's a shame. Horrible byproduct from an archaicly misconstrued idea, warped into its own newer, disgustingly misleading and even more convoluted enigma, losing all attachments of it's true nature.
Be well Scorp. I will never know the true feeling, or mindstate of what PTSD is, or so I now think, but all the same, my naïveté makes me hope/believe that you can overcome it, and persevere through strength in and of yourself.

I keep returning, and not leaving a comment. I suppose it's a combination of the compelling nature of your poem, and me trying to find a hint that it isn't written from personal experience. I can't find that hint. I agree with another comment here: you have an ability to carry your reader with you, whatever the content, and that is the hallmark of a talented writer.

Not sure how to read into this poem. Either you are a veteran, firefighter, EMT, or police officer that has PTSD or you are just able to write in third person and portray the feelings and thoughts of a person who has PTSD. Either way, It is a very good write. If you are the one dealing with PTSD, I know how you must feel, as I am an Army Veteran that deals with PTSD as well. I can relate to this poem all too well!!! Thank you for sharing.

Wayne

Damn this is some dark stuff. But not dark for just being moody or emotional. their is life here, a passionate disquiet of all things comforting. I like it
