Topic: LovePoetry

I used to write poetry
No doubt fueled by a potent soup
of teenage hormones
Then I met you, and I thought
I had no more need of rhymes
So I packed up my poem books
And put them in
storage

I used to have dishes
“Table for two,” a set from my aunt
a care package at school
Then I moved home, and they said
I had no need of spare dishes
So I packed up my plates and my cups
And put them in
storage

A lifetime of waiting, now counting down
until our packing boxes finally meet
in the same bedroom
Love, if you wait for me
I’ll set our table for two
And we’ll stack up all the empty boxes
and put them in
storage

She will love it.

Tsk, tsk, though. Other members appreciate comments / feedback too and in six years you have only found time to comment on one poem, toomuchfreetime?

I think she will enjoy it. The heart-felt sentiments and bright optimism are only solidifying the security of how you feel for her. :)
