Array ( [sid] => 180486 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Beauty in the void [time] => 2015-02-08 03:56:18 [hometext] => I see a contradiction in my self, one that I rather love. I can see beauty, in where I would think there's none. [bodytext] => Do you ever notice things?
Things about yourself?
Some that contradict one aspect,
Simultaneously compliment another?

I see these things day by day
In and of my self
A nihilistic mind and romantic eyes
Two constant eager bumping heads

The sun and clouds don't stupify me,
But sure take my breath away
The sheer size of the whirling cosmos
Leaves me not insignificant, but perplexed

I know no value in reality,
But those I make my own
Yet see all kinds of beauty,
That no one needs to've sown

The beauty is everywhere,
Coming and going with the day
Be it in our various mirrors
Or decorating all our graves

It can leave the skies at dusk
Or come with them at dawn
It can be in the kind hearts we touch
Or in the eyes of our loved ones

Some feel my outlook's poor,
But I feel it offers so much more
While the idea of meaningless may scare some,
My resolve strengthened, it makes for so much fun [comments] => 9 [counter] => 339 [topic] => 19 [informant] => xHeathenx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

I adore your free spirit though
I often don't know how to ever show it,
and I see the conflict that many like myself have,
It almost seems as though that if their own spirit is truly free it might fly away someday to a place/ a faraway void/ where they sadly feel they can't ever retrieve it / as the might lose too much of what they already miss here and now.
You write beautifully and I'm sure whoever reads what you just wrote will smile about its magical mystery
because it is fun, to be true and to imagine being strong.

A very good thought for me to close this night and dream about who knows just what or where...

Peace!

Pretty cool poem here. I would posit that you see more deeply, and feel more inside, and that would be the source of the 'outlook' comments you get.

You hardly seem nihilistic; your poem is hopeful and brimming with life. But, we all wear different clothes on our soul according to the moment. Well done, I say, by golly-by gum!

This poem has both a meaningful message, and unexpected (yet wonderful) imagery. It left me with a smile, so that probably counts as inspirational. Humans, and the many wonders of the world, can be quite contrariwise- constantly evolving (or devolving), whichever your stance.

Thought-provoking write!

An outlook is only significant to those who see outwards, not the one's looking in. I appreciate and am in full accordance with that of yours. Brilliant write :)

Yes, I have spent time looking inward and concentrating on my relationship to the world. Wondering how it is that nature speaks so intimately to my soul.. You have such a wonderful way with just the right words to captivate a readers imagination. So Good.
