and the mind becomes twisted
One can feel This coming aboard
but no way to resist it

Talk myself down
tell myself to breathe
Get up and move around
so hard This thing, This...anxiety

I want to cut This out
like a menacing cancer that exists
I want to tear This down
just leave it quaking in the mist

(Like it does to me)

I want to rip apart its walls
and set This all on fire
I want to watch This burn
my personal funeral pyre

Anything to release This
anyway to set This free
Anywhere to go
Where This won't follow me

The need to escape so tremendous
and no exits to be seen
Wish I could wake up and This...
just one horrible, evil dream

Great job Hippy. Anxiety can be crippling to those in its grasp, but you have produced a strong and emotive write about it.
I really like how you laid this out- you pulled no punches.
Well done.

Nicely done. Anxiety is such a debilitating disorder, and you have hit the nail on the head here. I have no personal experience, but have close friends who suffer from this cruel condition. Good luck, and may you defeat the beast.

Well played my friend. I dislike the anxiety so much you made me fear using the word this. I saw the title and thought...hmmmm...what could this mean?

I have dealt with the "this" for years and stopped taking anything for it in 2008. I was apparently addicted to Xanax or all of the above and ran out and decide after three weeks of withdrawal, I had to try going on my own without any help from my little friends. Doesn't always seem to work out great but so far, I've done okay. Okay, I'm babbling.

Another great poem from you. Awesome, in fact! Just, again, sorry you must endure this but you conveyed the message with much expertise.

*hugs*

Timbro
