I've only swished my sands through toes
several times;
felt the tide push and pull on
that which makes me me.
I've felt the gulf get heavy
and tear inside;
rip my guts and pull my hide from me-
I've known the coast and loneliness
and what it means to be-
nothing more than sand,
a rubble pebble slibble slobble,
a one-man band
blowing the horn, the gittar,
the this the that-
it don't mater worth a splat-
as long as I am me.
