Son of Sam
Wind blown child
Peter Pan

Neither
North or South
Hot or cold
Bipolar

High as the sky
Burning out of control
Deep dark lows
Tortured souls

Honor and disgrace
At a very fast pace
Out of control
Nowhere to go

Runaway Train
Play it again
On the run
Delusional fun

Slow Motion
Lucidity lost
Party over

Beautifully painted picture of a devastating condition, my mother in law suffered greatly at the hands of this, never quite got control.
Well done!

I really loved your poem.
Although I am not bipolar (I suffer from schizoid PD) I could feel the loss of control and the despair.
I can totally relate to this because there is no cure for what I have and I feel totally lost and misunderstood. I suppose the same applies to bipolar. You kind of need to learn to live with it which is terribly hard. And people who don't go through it simply cannot understand.

I wish you well.

Love,
Davinah

there is literally a party down the street
late at night
I can see it from the light
just over the fence

but I sit still not wishing to be
there

because, well I think
I'm just not that kind
Nor would I ever wish

If you wish everything is plausible
like a recording that plays
you can stop it, rewind it
play it back again at

Just the right speed, if you wish
that's all it takes

But it only lasts so long
So what's the use

I apologize or stay silent
most the time

I'm good at doing this

Love your off the top
poem, I can tell it just came
from nowhere

I mean, you didn't give it much thought
as though, you didn't need to, which I
like...the extemporaneous reader of poetry
just didn't know what else to say

Peace!

My mother, my brother, my sister, nearly half of all my exes have had the same condition. It's rough. I will never know the struggle, the battle for control of such things. Be they sanity, mood, or even what is seen and thought. I can relate only, on the most minor level, of the iceberg's surface.
However, I wish the best, in all of your endeavors. :)
