Out of the blue

It's been four long years

I could hardly believe

It was you

You wanted to see me

You promised

You were a new girl

Living at 519 Cornell

When we met

We shared a hug and a kiss

A warm embrace

It felt so nice

Having you in my arms

Once again

We laughed and cried

Remembering the days when

It was just you and I

You talked about our future

Ignored the past

Made promises

You swore to keep

You were headed

Back to the coast

To carry out our plans

Even though it was you and I

I knew all too well

It was probably just another alibi

Days came and went

The calls and letters

Began to subside

The weekends brought nothing

But sorrow and pain

With diminishing pride

I took a ride

When I found you in his arms

I knew it was goodbye.

Well written I unfortunately can relate I'm sure others will too;
a difficult revelation but without the second chance there is always the what if.
Now the truth is out
Thanks for sharing

// //I sighed after reading this. You said recently I don`t know you. You`re right...partially. I do know part of you. This part. And you know me...this part. I could write something so similar it`s sort of eerie but also, I`m sure millions could relate to this and write it if they could. You may not "be a music man" but you`re a writing man and this one packed a blow to my heart!!!

Write on, brother!!!!!!
