I've an acre of blessed earth, dark as night, rich

I seek to contribute to greater good and yet
foundering on how.....private patches
less Monsanto?

grew up near an old farm in the suburbs not too far from Detroit. The houses were fairly close to each other, each house had a decent sized backyard, but across the street where the farm house sat they left a big open two street track of land where we played as kids.

Behind the farm house was about an acre, to the left and to the right about four acres between the rows of streets.

The house was purchased by a big time lawyer who had two little girls. The house was big and very nice.
The Lawyer used the acre out back to make a giant pottery and art workshop.
The Lawyer also installed a couple of lights just to the right where each year he would make an ice skating rink where I learned to play hockey.

That family was very nice and although they seemed a lot more educated than most of the people around our small town , they were exceptionally kind.

It was a go to place for learning about art.
And it was all free and very fun.

Peace!
