Array ( [sid] => 180017 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Peace Of Mind [time] => 2014-12-13 21:44:17 [hometext] => I have just moved back to my home town after 43 years. This is for the friends I made during that time especially those in the last two. [bodytext] => I was sitting where I came from
Wanting to be where you are
I was thinking that I had just left
A place that had gone too far

I worry about those behind me
Did I leave them standing in line
Waiting for help from someone
That had lost his peace of mind

I cant wait for me to stand up
I have to step out of line
If I stay where I was at
I will never make it in time

The best thing I can do now
Is show us we can survive
And maybe others will see this
And they will find their peace of mind [comments] => 2 [counter] => 132 [topic] => 43 [informant] => texasman [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

This kind sir Texasman is brilliant!!!
I myself have always wondered what it would be like to go back and live in my home town. I know a lot of folk from my youth are dead and gone, even many who are of my age which ain't that old.
There's the old farmhouse that sat, a silhouette really of times gone by way in the past that still sits there. The streets are smaller than I remember, most of the homes are too. When I left the town's population was the highest it would ever reach at almost ten thousand, that was thirty years ago. Now it's half that size. We had two high schools and four junior highs, now they have one junior high and one high school.
There aren't many jobs there, and prospects for a good job are slim.
Anyhow, I still seeing myself going there in the future, wondering why, and perhaps hoping to lend a hand in some way towards a brighter future.

My story, or my dream into the future, I'm sure is different than what you are now experiencing
Yet somehow I feel a kindred spirit in what you propose.

I really enjoyed reading this.

Thank you!

Peace!

I also wanted to say, I really like the title,
"Peace" of mind.
there is a peacefulness within what you have written as well.

Thanks again!

Peace!
