Stumpy. Lumpy.
Jumpy.
Dive headfirst,
Or heart,
Whatever feels worse.
Enter the berserk
Notion that I'd ensnare,
Someone. Somewhere.

Look at the price already-
I am not worth it, really.
Thoughts gnash, consumed unsteady,
In real time it'd be silly.

You remain out of my league-
I know my role, know my place,
An anonymous blank face,
Basking in lukewarm intrigue.

My grieved paper burned a trail-
Straight to your wayward bread crumbs,
Intoxicating. Inhale,
Entrails spilling to succumb.
One day I'll die.
Disappear and you won't know why,
Are you that guy?
Leave me to rot, or watch me fry,
Sizzled by perpetual lies.

Shaped, then molded-
Often scolded, now scalded,
By your blistering resolve
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow-
Should have folded.
I'm thick-headed, yet balded.
Blinded by your love absolve,
Of my crimes, kiss my sorrow,
Goodbye. Weighty. Hold it.

Or hold me-
Just don't let me go,
Keep me free,
From sinking too low.

This is such a powerful write, yet, paradoxically, so very, very vulnerable. I absolutely adore the passion and giving of the inner soul that this wonderful poem delivers.

love will drive one mad lol! i really don't like the part where you
are 'scolded' then 'scalded' that second is not loving on his part,
tho then again kahlil does point out love is also for our pruning....

hugs n' love nessa

If I told you that I just like the "enter the berserk" line, I'd be lying. I will be reading this poem again.

Best,

Fox

Well, I commented once, but of course the site became cantankerous and the comment disappeared.
(Hopefully my comment will not appear thrice for my efforts :P)

I SO relate to this. Honestly, reading this was as reflective as looking in the bathroom mirror. (how DO you do that?)
We love to hold on don't we? I often wonder if the drowning would bring about a better end...?

Meh, don't listen to me. A hopeless romantic is never practical. ;)

I am loving reading you again !
