Array ( [sid] => 179989 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Forgotten [time] => 2014-12-09 18:44:54 [hometext] => I had an image of some standing at the ocean, firing a gun into the air, trying to reach the stars, and came up with this. [bodytext] => There is a man standing at a beach
All by his lonesome
He has an objective, a mission of sorts
He wishes to be remembered

So he invokes a malicious act
He won't be remembered for his life
So he casts forth a ball of fire toward the stars
To be remembered for a smear on the canvas

The heavens swirl and mix
Losing all recognition
The constellations of days of old
No longer serve as guides

He is a painter of a grim illustration
He could not paint an illusion of life
So instead he developed
An abstract form of destruction

The world had changed as well
Mountains crumbled and hills had split
The oceans roared and seas changed red
The sky had a darkness placed in its stead

What were once aquatic inhabitants
Were now decorations of riverbeds
Castles formed and towers fell
For some change is hell

And it seemed it was for him as well
He no longer recognized his home
And was cast away
Exiled from the world

To be left behind in history
Still alone
And in all senses of the word

The imagery, among many things in this poem is powerful. I appreciate your comments on my recent poem. Your mother will always live on in you.

Best,
Fox
