From Pimples to Wrinkles

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Monday, 8th December 2014 @ 04:26:05 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

11th grade, I look into the mirror and I could cry
My face is so pimple laced and dry
Going out I just dread
I'd sooner put a bag over my head

My face was the ultimate road block
With a single glance, my grill could stop a clock
Looks good? Yah, only in the darkest subway station
It got as many craters as seen during the longest space exploration

I close my eyes for a minute and wake up
Insert age here, what the ----
There's a cute lady there I do want to meet
O dear lord, how do I get rid of these crow's feet

Stick a fork in me, I am done
Should have stayed out of the sun when I was 21
Going out now I just dread
I'd sooner put a bag over my head

From clearasil to Botox
And all the fixings to road blocks
From pimples to wrinkles
Life without mirrors would be much more simple

ha! you have me laughing over here my friend! ~we
humans are never satisfied are we? but let's be honest-
if there were no mirrors we would be bending down peeking
at our reflection in the rivers! the moon reference is just killing
me lol,

hugs n' love nessa

"From pimples to wrinkles " what a great line.

I liked this. I will say you are kinda hard on yourself, bro.

Best,

Invierno

I was just contemplating this subject at 3am watching infomercials the other night, why do we expect so much form ourselves yet so little from others. But I do agree life without mirrors and the expectation that the reflection has to appear a certain way for it to be right would be great!!!
Made me laugh, good flow.

Awesome poem my poetic friend! Try not to be so hard on yourself and just take whatever life offers. It's what and who you are on the inside that counts! Beauty is only skin deep, but the beauty of a soul shines forever. Keep on writing!

Wayne
