Gladiators fell and at times rose for the crowd,
Poets too fall in love, but they hardly rise and shy away from the crowds.

Gladiators always knew that they are facing a certainty i.e. death,
Poets also hope for a certainty i.e. appreciation of their work before or after their death.
Gladiators fought against all odds,
Poets do keep on writing against all odds.

Gladiator’s heartfelt nightmares were facing warriors, lions, tigers, chariots and death.
Poet’s heartfelt nightmares are facing a poet’s block when not a word flows,
Heartbreaks and an intense urge to find recognition in life and in life after death.

The line between the gladiator and the poet disappears when one considers that both strive for honor,
Cheers from the crowd and last but not thee least never giving up when it matters.
