Tangled up in the sheets and half awake in the darkness;
I open one eye slowly;
if I see the ceiling—
I Celebrate!

Lying all cozy in the very early mourning;
Tangled up in a sheet in the darkness;
Opening one eye slowly—
And seeing a quilted satin lining!

So true! I like the wordplay used to capture your message. One more day is all we can hope for, and, at times, that seems like more than enough. ;) Nicely done.

Very well done. I loved the juxtaposition between that first stanza and the second.

I was told many a year ago that it was a good day if you woke up and your name wasn't in the obituaries

A quick punch...you just created not only a masterpiece, but an entire category.

Loved it, made me smile.
I've always said a good day is waking up in the morning, looking out of the window and being glad to be alive.
Some days are better than others for us all, but you've reminded me what the alternative is.
I'm not ready for that just yet!!!

Steve

I'm sawee I forget to post a comment. After what you told me, now I feel guilty. So, no need to thank me...that message is worth a life time.

You have a way with words that's unique to you. That is a gift in my opinion. Perhaps all talents to everyone is a gift.

This sort of reminds me of a nightmare I had maybe a month ago???? I had this nightmare where the only thing I can remember was the end...and the nightmare was the end...as in that second, I thought this is it, I'm now.....DEAD! That woke the doody outta me!!!
