the ocean is on fire.
The sky has just fallen,
and the world is so empty.

It's so silent here now,
there's no more war, there's no more hate.
It's so peaceful tonight,
but, freedom comes at a high price.

When the wind blows,
it doesn't find taking lungs anymore.
When the night comes,
there's no one to pick up the once
wished upon fallen stars.

Now there's nothing left alive,
but this snow covered rose.
Permanent winter all around,
but, one little flower still grows.
This snow covered rose. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 570 [topic] => 19 [informant] => steven_fenton123 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

This bears reading more than once for me to experience the feelings of lost hope survived by a single bloom. "The sun has just melted. The ocean is on fire"..WHOA! Start to finish, visions of what-ifs to tantalize the imagination! Bon appetite!

Hi Steve, open your heart and let It speak, you my Friend have done this big time. As long as that one little flower grows there Is ever hope. A most Interesting and well written poem Steve. As your poem tells, no matter how bad things are there Is always hope. As long Is there Is hope man can turn away from the brink of destruction. One line sums up the poem for me Steve and that Is, "but, one little flower still grows," that one flower of hope can mean so much to so many. Excellent write Steve. Have a good day. Catch you later. Your Friend always....MIKE.
