I stare upon the vastness.
My empty thoughts roam about,
Above me, waiting to be filled.
I watch as they take shape,
Like water they are formless
Unless given a structure.
From within or without,
They are influenced by something unseen.
I wonder what it is that makes them what they are.
How much of me is really me,
How much is someone else?
Quietude, that is where my kingdom lies.
Away from the jungle,
Free from marketing and noise.
Finding wonder in the morning dew,
As it reflects the quiet all around.
Peacefully I want to grasp
Peace fully so it is mine,
And not something I pick up and run out of to pick up and run out of. This is a truly magnificent line:

"Peacefully I want to grasp
Peace fully so it is mine,
And not something I pick up and run out of to pick up and run out of."

Couldn't have expressed this thought better than it is here. Very well done.

This makes me think of how I react when I re-read some of my poetry. I think, was that really me? Sometimes it feels as though an outside force is channeling through me. Quietude; the oasis where poets words are born.

I love this:

My empty thoughts roam about,
Above me, waiting to be filled.

Good to see some new posts from you!
