Is more than suns;

From her ankle to her knee
Is every star’s splendor;

Her thighs
Have more of grace than waters passing,
With force of spring,
In soft music over smooth stones

The skin which sheathes her womb
Where may come forth
Others of her, such that earth
May never be void of hope;

These breasts
Are subtle, round as oceans,
Soft as calm waves washing shores;

In her shoulder there is more of flight
Than winging doves,

Nor can her back be other
Than all good music
Ever a human formed
With winds and fingers;

This between her shoulder and elbow
Is life’s chalice:
A hearth for every heart;

These fingers, this forearm
Are as the breeze
Touched of summer’s essence -
Gives warmth of sensation
To every nerve of skin;

Her hair lying just so
Makes of doomed enclosures
Of every human condition
One doorway
Where soft whispering
Of all angels is relief
To every dent of soul;

These cheeks that guard her mouth
Are more than every halo forged -
More blest than every echelon to be
So near of lips far richer
Than every fruit a seed brings forth in spring;

Of eyes what can one speak?
For these touch with least veil
Her soul,
Therefore
As one goes blind with looking
Too longingly at the sun
So mere speaking of
What show of her most truly
Can only sear the tongue
And melt the words that seek,
In ambition of description,
To hold the source of light;

And all of this is merged
Into one being,
As the wise of different schools
Have made of all the universe
The metaphysics of One -
So is she singular
Of all the graces lingering
In stars
And breezes
In roses,
And the Lilies,
As one water where all rivers meet,
As one expression
Of every good
That touches earth
And sheds the transubstantial light
On everything that is.
