Taking out the old facades,
Lying betwen its teeth,
Stuck in patterns,
Stuck in confusion,
Life in the afterbirth,
No land for illusions.

Caledl through and chained,
As it sits in your palm,
Alone and so helpless,
Home without home,
Drowning in triviality,
Drowning in your wake,
Life moving steadily
Living for livings sake.

Buying out your happiness,
Put it on the shelf,
Colour coded facsimiles,
They never fill the holes,
Screaming on the inside,
Screaming in your sleep,
Life will take it all away,
There's nothing you can keep.

This last stanza was incredible. the whole poem was very well thought out. Especially the last 2 lines. its the damn truth. Death is the debt that all men must pay.

7 years,
constructs, consternation's
"Time drips down walls,
Taking out the old facades,
Lying between its teeth, "
"home without home,
Drowning in triviality"

These are not abstract thought's
But they appear to be
To far too many of us ---

I love abstract poems
And this is wonderfully
well done.

The gray in between
what we might be thinking of sadly
sorrowfully about

I almost see the clear distinction
here, or the inverse of missed truths
soulful recollections
left upon the edge of hope

"no land for illusions"
This is abstraction
The reason a poet
like yourself
wrote and then shared
a poem.

Thank you!
Peace!

Hmm. Your author's note alludes to the fact that it is quite a big deal that this is your "first poem on here in 7 years".

I think the only big deal here is the fact that it has been EIGHT years since the last time you felt the need to comment on someone else's work. Oh, and NINE since the last time anyone (other than congratulating yourself) received a nice comment from you.

Maybe I'll check for you in another seven years...Cheers.
