Sometimes you ask yourself why?
you make an effort to go an extra mile
When you’re only kicked
and made to think there is some sort of denial

Feelings are sensitive
can be damaged by anything or anyone
If people kick you too hard
it makes you want to turn around and run

Trying to make a conversation
to explain about something you have done
The other person cuts you off
you realize their attention you have not won

Then you feel their tone
as they kick you about something you have said
You feel the heat rise within you
but you control your emotions instead

You back up into your corner
the place where you grasp what you feel
Telling yourself
the heat of that moment, was no big deal

But yet you ask yourself why?
why do you bother to explain
When you only get attitude back
you begin to think your efforts are in vain

The positive side of this is
your feelings are sensitive but strong
You can be kicked and mistreated
but know where you belong

No need to ask yourself why
your heart truly does see how they are inside
They can kick you all they want
but they can’t take your pride

Strong finish, well done. It is good to both stand up for yourself, as well as owning up to your part in things as well. With both of those tools on your belt you will continue to grow.

Keep it up.
