If reality were as strong as wishful memories
smiles would be handed all 'round the room-
life would be as grand as we imagine,
pushing back realities gloom.

But reality, being what is, (reality itself and all)
is not so compliant, darn it all-
so, we make due with what we have-
treasuring the now, not what could have been-
the reality of now, not the imagined then. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 120 [topic] => 44 [informant] => invierno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )

A lot of people live in an ideal world as opposed to the realistic. But then again this is a symptom that many poets suffer from. Especially those with unrequited love

Hi bud

Very provoking poem. Yes reality is not what we wished for. However our reality may not be as bad as it might appear. It depends on how we perceive what is a good or bad place in life. I myself am a realist. I find the more time we waist pondering on what we wish we had leaves less time to achieve our goals in life that could very well bring us closer to what we wished for. Again very good write gets one thinking and I love that kind of poetry. Blessings my dear friend.

Greetings
Rus
