Array ( [sid] => 179151 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Thank you [time] => 2014-08-22 22:07:50 [hometext] => just saying:) [bodytext] => I have been walking the halls
and sneaking in doorways of YPDC
for many a year now,
watched it all transpire here.
Laughter and fun,
friendships made
some sadness and tears
and late night company dates.

Mick well we know he is the man
and with lots of hard work and dedication
ups and downs he kept with a plan.
Brought us all here together
many of us have become a family
sharing our lives, good and the bad
ups and the downs
even stormy weather.

Then over the years
we have lost a few
and for those of us who have been around
for awhile,
they have been missed, missed here every day
we feel the loss, we cried we prayed.

For everyone here, the old and the new.
I just want to say THANK YOU
for friendships so true.
Thank you for sharing, your talent and verse
thank you for reading and commenting on mine.

You are a blessing, yes all of you are
and I am so grateful
in my life you are all a part.
In ways large or small
it matters not at all.
Blessed to have you all
poetically mine.

I thank you.

Love n hugs

As a new comer, I see the truth of your poem. I'm glad I found this site....or did it find me?

Either way, I've become better in my writing thanks to this site.

Thank you Michelle, and Mick
And, just now as I read this my
young teenage son is playing
video games on a smart tv
And I wonder in amazement at
the gravity of the incredible and
intense brilliance of the graphics
He loves so much, and I also
wonder if there is a future
we could all take that is past
Poetry... Or if poetry
is linear or never could be
And I think it be the nascent
to everything
before even me
There are so many dreams
different paths /
The art of the dream
behind brilliant sound
Limitless and profound

As I too look around
I myself happened unto this
YPDC
And it heals bit by bit
what is wrong from time to
time in my soul

I wish to fly away
all these souls here to be
free.

Thanks to all of you,
and to you Michelle!

It's great to read this. I know that I fade in and out here, but I do find YPDC a family.
Being here for so many years I've made friends even if it's just the following of their lives in their poetry.
There have been times where this was the only place I could turn to heal myself, grow, forgive... Not only by chatting with people or sharing my poetry, but by reading others works as well!
Thank you for sharing this,
I would also like to thank all of the other familiar faces as well as the new,
Without all of you this place just wouldn't be home.
Sincerely,
T_u

I guess this place is like a club.
You give it your membership and enjoy being part of the world it offers.
Some choose to take their life in a different direction and leave the club, whilst others come along and take their place.
It's sad to see people disappear without really knowing why, but I guess we have to remember being here is still just a snapshot of our daily lives, there are many things to take up our precious time. Sadly life does get in the way sometimes.

So well written and said.
This place can be very comforting in times of need.
