That
guitar I never quite picked up
(though I picked it up and tried)
to master and impress myself-
I let it slip the way of the Dobro Slide.

That
Samurai sword- as sharp as tippy needles-
a line of them, pointy pointy things,
so many points to form an arc
cutting thick and thin.
No- not learned- (another) 'as purchased' dream;
this, I let go as well it seems-
no Shogun antics for me,
(though one or two in dreams).

That
bureau....ah...the bureau.
Splotches of white and purple
(how does this look?)-
Once a project pregnant in vision of completion-
now a rude interruption
of its former self.
A reminder of things undone.
This bureau, black and splotched
with effort unfulfilled,
another pesky reminder in
need of memories tilled.

My compost pile full, yet more to fill.

The question? For me, at least..
I write to myself- readers do as they please;
hold or go or stay or go do something
so you don't need a tiller turning dreams over
to mow over dreams unfulfilled. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 226 [topic] => 44 [informant] => invierno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )

A great read about unfinished tasks stemmed from emotion-fueled ambition! Love it. I have certain hobbies I want to pick up (guitar and violin for starters); the Les Paul is in the house and I never make use of it. One day perhaps. Great work and God bless,

Deidra
