When I was young,
I couldn't wait to be older;
Now that I'm older,
and the fodder of life
has dropped like manure,
I'm far less bold;
not likely to leap the creek,
wouldn't go near a wasp nest,
won't traipse in the woods without
knowing where I'm going.

Now that I'm older,
I just want to be young. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 223 [topic] => 21 [informant] => invierno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Boy, you said that for us! Age changes our priorities. Your referral to leaping the creek and wasps nests tells tales of your boyhood adventures.
We are only children once…but we are adults for ever so long!
thank you for separating the yolk from the rest of the egg! I love this.

Funny how it goes should we be so blessed although is an over statement of fact yet; to live outside of starvation or war torn worlds as a child; that we long to be 'Pure' once more less, All the poison ~ Good to read your words....

Hi there

Yes we are like that. We always want to be what we are not at that present point in time. What I love about this poem is that it is short and sweet straight to the point. However leaves space for the reader to imagine and fill in our own experiences in life. Letting us paint further on the picture making it unique to each reader. Well done with this one my friend great poem. Blessings

Greetings
Rus

Such is life. Short and sweet but beautifully summarised
