Array ( [sid] => 178969 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Goodbye is never Forever [time] => 2014-08-01 18:23:57 [hometext] => A poem about missing someone and also inspired by a comment of a friend remembering her husband who passed away some years ago. [bodytext] => When the vicious sting of Winter eats my soul
And each day dessicates the droplets of hope
A whirlpool of despair sucks me under, filling my lungs
I sink breathless to the deepest trench of emptiness

Where arrows would pierce my forgotten, empty heart
I could not bleed from an open wound never healed
Scarred by the criss cross of marching time and defiant memory
The thumping beacon of light becomes the monotonous pulse of dark

In the mind's eye the candle does not flicker or dim
The image does not haze like views from rainsoaked windows
Happiness burns bright in the perfect bubble of daydream
Reality checked, paused for seconds to recall the hours

If you are truly gone you are not forgotten
In the waking hours or the last ticks to midnight
In silhouette you dance down the paths of my dreams
I imagine, if I dare, that goodbye is never forever. depressing as all get-out in the beginning, but as I read, I could see the direction and the ending was beautiful.

The imagery was most excellent and overall, a very fine piece.

Having to bid certain people farewell, whether by death or voluntary choice, I tell myself "goodbye is never forever." I tear up at each situation; yet I know things will work themselves out by God's grace. May He bless you,

Deidra

Hi,

''In silhouette you dance down the paths of my dreams.''
All those we love who have passed before us,
this is precisely where they live - where they
never die.

Beautiful.
