I fake a smile and try to hide so you won't see me there.
I hold my heart out to you, it beats so hard it breaks.
I know better by now, but make the same mistakes.

Your smile and your eyes make it hard to breathe
When you walk into the room, I turn around and leave.
I'm afraid of what you'll say when my feelings show.
So instead I run away so you may never know.

When you look into my eyes, you see right through me.
You see into the part of me no one else can see.
You see my ugliness and all the bitterness inside.
You see the broken parts of me that I try to hide.

I look at you and finally smile, you look at me and frown.
You put my world back together, I turned yours upside down.
It's so hard for us to learn how ugly love can be.
And it isn't meant for everyone. Certainly not for me.

It's a never ending battle fought between two hearts,
two brains, two souls, two mouths, and all the other body parts... always with the eyes it starts wrangles the heart
They do speak beyond words.

I'm old enough now too, but still love is
such true beauty beyond words.

How lucky to communicate...
it never gets old.

Peace!

A frenzy of emotions flows through your delightful rhyme! Makes the reader wonder if she knows what you are going through!!
I can't help rooting for the hero; one foot on home plate, wondering why he can't get to second!
You have said it best--"It's a never-ending battle fought between two hearts!" and I doubt that anyone reading this cannot relate to his delimma!
You have spoken for all of us.
