Array ( [sid] => 178691 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My New Found Friend [time] => 2014-07-03 16:10:56 [hometext] => A tributt to a fellow poet here that has helped me see joy and simple things my heart had abandoned in favor of nagativity and cynisism (shame on me) [bodytext] =>

A Beating heart, years uninterrupted,
(amazing, a gift from God in it's incredible steadiness)
can, within the chambers and tubes,
with enough passing seasons
build the dreaded hated plaque-
(Rhymes with heart attack) and for good reason-
reducing flow of pulsing blood,
restricting life itself in slowing pounding tiny flood-
Bad enough, yes, this inner obstruction,
but more hurtful still the outer;
the invisible loss of faith- the destruction
of our youthful wonder;
our ever eyes wide in delight where all is splendid, unique-
a child's openness, as natural (to them) as air-
normal, nothing special to a child there-
(at fifty years worth more than gold, sought and found by letting go).
This faith in life, scraped detritus of decades long,
this calcification, if you will,
killer of simple thrills by covering, tarp-like
even the chance to open doors leading to new friendships, thrills....
(cynical heart whispering, reminding mind of prior letdowns).
BUT! I've found a friend my heart will leap for, to and fro
in celebration of his beating heart- his so clean of sacked
enclosure- open to life's exposure....
RR is teaching me (albeit from across the sea)
that not all is bad, the heart can still observe, engage indeed in
respect and caring, Joy! It can still learn-
to him I say thank you in the language of this poem...
But I'll wrap this up post haste,
lest it become a tome.

WOW

Hello Bud how are you? I'm flabbergasted what a beautiful sentiment. Your words are to kind. We only give what we have and what we have we get from God free of charge so its given free of charge to others. Yes there is a pure friendship between us one based on respect and honesty and to me that's the best foundation. I thank you as well my friend for affording me the privilege to befriend you to. So far across the sea, I wish I could just pop in for a cup of tea sit and chat about poetry. As for poetry, there is a poet in every person however only the brave pen it and share it that's why when we braves see a fellow poet stumble we don't shun them, we remember there brave hearts turn back and help them up because when we stumble we would want our fellow poets to come to our aid. Keep writing my dear friend you have a talent may your pen never run dry. Blessings

Greetings
Rus

To all my poet friends here its an honour to know you all
