An average man owns this club.
This club's purpose?
What is its purpose?
Does this purpose matter?
It does to the owner.
The average man.
His club is popular.
There are many members.
The members have never met the owner.
The average man.
The man who owns this Yahoo club.
Always updating his club, this man does.
The owner.
The average man.
His members have become his fans.
But soon he doesn't update as much.
His fans get a little restless.
They demand to know the reasons.
They post messages.
The man does not come by the club to see these messages.
Months go by.
Soon a year.
Some members forsake the club, while others grow more restless.
E-mails are sent to the owner.
Some e-mails with viruses.
Some e-mails with cursing insults.
The man does not respond.
The man does not get the viruses.
The man has not checked his mail.
Eventually, everyone ends up forsaking the club.
It has been 10 years now.
Nobody goes to the club anymore.
The owner hasn't gone to the club in 10 years.
The rants.
The insults.
The demands.
The members.
The owner never heard them.
The average man.
And so, after all this time, the club dies.
But the owner has been dead for 10 years.

It's very sad to think that you meet friends online and become great friends with them, but if they ever passed away then you wouldn't know. I have a great friend that I met online. She lives a long way away from me and if anything happened to her I wouldn't find out. Most people would think oh yea they are just ignoring me, don't want to know me anymore, but really it could be worse...

I totally agree with this. I once had a friend I met online. We talked all the time. He lived in California. All of a sudden he didn't talk to me anymore. I found out he died a couple months later when his dad called me. Great write!
