The ivory tower

Contributed by saesori on Friday, 23rd May 2014 @ 04:13:10 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

High above the heads of the common,
the man looked down
on a world of deformed shadows
roaming in broad daylight.
Ignoring everyone else
he stands alone,
not prone to sympathy
in this sea of melancholy.
Climb down,
escape from this ivory tower
to the depths below.
If the world is not
as you envisioned it,
help it grow.

'deformed shadows roaming in broad daylight'. This is a strange but titillating piece.

'the man' is an ego creature, that much is obvious. HE doesn't see much worth looking at (and for good reason, imho.)

Does he want to 'climb down'? Doesn't sound like it. Nice wish at the end, but he doesn't strike me as the sort with the gumption to change the world.

Cool poem, Saesori...well done.
