There is a fear of sleeping some,
A darkened room,
Silence that echoes.

The brain left to its own thoughts,
A frightening concept for a few,
Thoughts creep in as the light goes out.

Self doubt, hatred and loathing,
Worry such a tangible device.
Panic comes to those awake,
Walls of black enclose them.

The blissfully asleep remain ignorant,
Their breathing even and contained.
Inhale, exhale, inhale again. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 127 [topic] => 43 [informant] => unforgiven [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

The poet has penned the truth only
He has narrated my experience finely.

I like this one. I'm one of those lucky people. When I go sleep. I SLEEP LoL.
I don't allow things or worries to deprive me of such a beautiful state of mind. If one could call sleeping a state of mind.

Greetings
Rus

Gotta cast my vote for blissful ignorance…I like the line "the brain is left to its own thoughts". Wonder what it thinks about??
Haunting little write-- reminds us that when we shut down…we don't.

Yes, this is the majority
undone by what they do not
see

the blissfully ignorant
a crowded confused malady
seemingly unapproachable

they say history will tell
but the past will silently
roll along, the inundated
infinitesimals remaining
silent, as though
sound waves from afar
dissipate like a face in
the crowd, as the energy
or the particle takes on yet another
shape, and history
is meaningless again
to the majority or crowd.
