She is a step mom but believe me my daughter could just as well be her own. I love my wife Elaine so much my gift from God [bodytext] => 06:04:2014....

The love of a mother.
Is like none other.
She would lay her life down gladly.
Defend her young boldly.
You don't want to make a scene.
She will take out your spleen.
She dries your tears when you cry.
And never tells a lie.
She will make your bed and cook your food.
Make you laugh and change your mood.
She will help with your school work.
Then she will get you to wash the Merc.
And when you're afraid in the middle of the night.
She is the one that comes to turn on the light.
And when you bring that first love home.
She won't cast a stone.
She will let you be.
And if things go wrong just wait and see.
It's Mom that comes to your aid.
And on your heart puts a bandaid.

You are blessed to have a love of such depth. Your girl is fortunate as well. I wonder how I would have turned out had I a mother that loved me...but, I turned out the way I was intended to. I've dropped that sack of "what If's?" long ago. To darn heavy!

Good job here, Russell. I have a question or two relevant to your style and diction. If you have an interest in exploring this, please message me in private.

Best,

Invierno

Yeah, I think the tears kicked in after the second line, so thanks for that! ;) This is so very sweet, and I love even more that it is written for a Stepmother. It sure sounds like your wife has all those wonderful Mom traits. Beautiful. I laughed out loud at the spleen line. Hehehe.

P.s happy early Father's Day to you!

You described my mom too - I went through a lot of medical problems as a child & my mom stood by me through two years of very scary stuff - she's why I got through it.

She's my brick - I don't know what I'd do without her.

Great write.

A fine tribute to a mother's love and devotion to her children. A devotion that is the single most sustaining factor of the human race.
I too had a laugh at the reference to the spleen removal.
