had my parents not come through the door at that minute?
things were becoming heated.
you had me pinned to the ground,
kissing me.
you were so gentle.
you went between kissing my neck

it was all so nice.
but was it what we wanted?
what if things had gone further?
are we ready for that?
i didn't want you to stop

i see this is under romance but it maybe should
be under a different topic, these are all things
you need to decide for yourself, whatever you do
be smart about it and be safe, blessings,

A good question!!! One we can all ask ourselves at one point or another in our lives I'm sure!
Better to be able to ask "What would've happened?" than to wish it hadn't!
What a clever way to remind us to think twice..not many have the benefit of intervention to alter the course of their lives! You are lucky!
Cause you can always go through with it if you change your mind!

potentialpoet96, Well, what would have happened could not be printed here. The fact you ask "are we ready for that?' is a clear indication that, indeed, you were not. If you have to smell a container of casserole, then you don't want to eat it, right? Better defined in a rule: "If in doubt, throw it out".

Your poem is full of questions. This is a wonderful thing. Questions are the seeds from which knowledge and poems grow.

Your moniker 'potential' poet....you ARE a poet now. You have 'potential' to be a better poet. You are asking the right questions to your heart. Let your heart answer them in future poems.

Please keep writing, dear. You are on the right track.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
