...this is me free style...

i do not know if you will ever see
this poem or my humility
tho if you do i want to say
i never loved you anyway
sometimes i wonder if you knew
i could not ever be true to you
i really tried and thought i did
tho someone else was in my head
the one i married still holds my heart
'twas not our fault we fell apart
i know he would have blessed our union
from heaven even, where he resides
alas i could not give to you
completely me

whereas many loves i've had
some were good and some were bad
when in it i believed in love
though no one could compare
my heart is there
above the sun
far above land and trees and oceans
far away into the starry notions
and like the stars my heart blew up
when i lost my true loving cup
'tis nevermore forevermore to be filled again
not now or then or ever when
someday some sexy guy smiles at me
i will tell him 'run away!'
be quick afore i steal your heart
or tear your ordered world apart
fore i can never love again
when in heaven is my man

i probably should include here
the men to whom i found so dear
the ones who loved me with whole souls
who brought me across oceans
to be kissed under the southern cross
i loved them, then alas, that last lost piece
of my soul found fault
to all relationships i have pulled a halt
fore i cannot love another
indeed: i did mention this
between hugs and sweetest bliss
but men they never listen
they just want a pretty girl
so from these men i gracefully accepted
at different times 9 engagement rings*

tho my dear one ex
we faithfully wrote 450 of all
those long passionate beautiful letters
from far and away across the sea
charming honeyed love poems
in your lovely old garden of eire
you set my blood on fire!
with you... i could fall truly madly deeply...
to sleep
aye, that one could maybe have carried me away
because my wide brown eyes turned him on...
you were one of the sweetest loves i ever had
tho i'm pretty sure by now the fairies have you
for you were barkin' mad

*all rings returned except the one
from that cheating s o b who had a gun
his ring i threw into the pond
where anyone can go dig around
so out by the frogs are diamonds and gold
they seem to love it their croaking bold
they sing for me each night
maybe i will hold a froggie tight
you do know what they say...
but back to my humble apology
to: who so ever i left a broken heart
i did not mean to tear your world apart
tho i'm pretty sure you all ***** me off
so don't go thinking i went soft

I like it!!! And I don't know if those last two lines were meant to be funny but I chuckled when I read them.

Great poem! Thank you.

I must agree that 98% of guys are like that, but there are a few that see the beauty of a women for what REALLY matters. Excellent piece. If I go broke I will come a ring hunting by following the frog's croak....lol

Hello Nessa

Very nice poem. Very true men are like that we just don't get the point sometimes. However there are men worthy of a woman's love. Heartfelt apology I must say and the curve ball at the end maid me bellow with laughter. I'm glad I took the time to come see more of your work. God bless

Greetings
Rus

Ah, the heart wants what it wants. Perhaps there will be another, but the kind of love you have described lives on forever. It can neither be separated by time nor place.

Kudos to your freestyle!

Honest, ballsy, sad, humourous, touching and oh, so very readable.
They say if you have truly loved more than once, then you have never truly loved at all. I go along with that sentiment; there's always that someone to head the list.

This is pretty good. I like your style and temperament in this poem. I think the title should be "To My Ex's"

I never made it to my wife's funeral. I couldn't. It meant saying goodbye to something that I wasn't ready to let go of. And to be perfectly honest, I doubt if I ever will. She was part of me
I couldn't say goodbye. Family and friends didn't fault me...I think.
But it was time, a dog and big brown eyes that stirred that heady mix, yet again. I didn't what happened then nor almost 20 years later when I found myself alone. Again, family and friends didn't fault me. But not with or for the same reasons.
I certainly appreciate the anguish and the irony.
It is my fervent wish that you find peace and contentment in this world. A beautiful soul such as yourself will most assuredly have it in the next!
A wonderful write, dear lady. Truly...
Thank you so much for sharing...
Michael

Remind me why we aren't digging in that pond again?

This was so awesome, and sad, and funny toward the end. Could stand to capitalize a little more but I know getting onto you about grammar does as much good as telling a chicken to quack. (Hahaha, love you mom). It's poetry so I guess I'll let you get away with it.

Hey!

Thanks for your feedback on my poems, I only recently saw them.

I started to read some of your work and I am so impressed. This poem is so touching and cold at the same time, I absolutely love it!

Oh my! Very emotional...
Almost got tears to my eyes..
Very sorry to hear that about your man

But it's some truth you're putting out there

Beautiful.
