unreplaceable is what this someone was
after all this time still death gives pause
once i was loved and lived the fairytale
every heartbeat n' breath felt alive; real

alas, now we are lost to each the other
at times the lonely world holds no colour
when two are one; mind, heart, and soul
one left behind may not ever feel whole

alone inside each fiber of spirits dwelling
as memory looks upon gold wedding rings
where love once laughed on a featherbed
hopelessly that life now ripped to shreds

all lost years this kiss is missed; it does
little good to further reminisce such abyss
where once a heart felt alive and worthy
no amount of sunshine finds the key; for

all wistful days of life's summer are gone
fading, still mourning, left alone is the one
laughters reflections of past turns to stone
ever grey grief remains in horizens distance

skies cast over darkly afore thunder's storm
anxious worm reaffirms wiggles in dirt home
one lone inarticulate lively spirit ne'er to return
as peaceful mists calm dusty bones silent urn

to be thrown into rapacious cavernous sea
yet green leaves sway in breezes melody

"so grieve for me just one more day
the one that's yet to be
then life goes on, your grieving done
a smile my memory"

I guess we all have to try and make sense of it all but, is absence a feeling, an emotion, a state of mind maybe just an emptiness yet to be understood.which may or may not ever be filled.... ?
God Bless, dave

Oh lady fawn..how lovely is the heart that remembers! What a vision you conjured for me with "where love once laughed on a feather bed" ..you brought me to share your longing.
And your readers to re-experience their precious memories of those now gone…
Just lovely, serene and tenderly crafted. So like the author.

It has been quite some time since I have been brought to tears. You have created a shower of salty rain with the emotions stirred by your words. You are a talented and gifted artist my friend....

Gorgeous in the hurt. Loss is as inevitable as the falling of leaves in autumn, the soaking of ground in a rain....

I would ask that you cherish those memories less in pain (I know it is there and cannot be obviated...ever), but to make an effort to smile and hold dear those memories in love and joy, and try to lay the loss factor aside. The one you lost would wish this to be so, I would like to think. If this person knew you (an evolved soul yourself) then they by association are (I would think) of that inclination to healthy recollection.

We don't mourn the loss of visible sand on the beach as the tide come in to cover it- it just IS. At the same time, when the tide recedes, we see this and again, so to shall you see this soul when your body releases your soul back into the collective.

Blessings, Nessa.

So deep, heartfelt. The pain felt in every verse. My dear Ladyfawn, as always I cherish the chance to read your poetry, it has been missed.

So sorrowful and yet very pure of heart. Some of your poems are coming together as a story, and I am kind of glad I have read through them in a backwards/sporadic type manner. I am so sorry for your loss. It is wonderful that his memory is kept alive through such lovely poetry. Keep writing, friend.

I just wanted to hug you after reading this.
May your joy of remberance overcome any sense of loss.
Tender, so touching...I only had to wipe my eyes twenty times!
Thank you so very much for sharing something so dear.
Smile...you are being thought of...continually.
Michael.

I feel like life was greedy too (I had to google "avaritia" to find the meaning) because it took my father away from me too soon. Sorta choked me up a little. Interesting that you spelled color with a "u" because that's a Brit thing.
