I never really did understand chemistry. The idea of inventing chemicals, experimenting different hypothesizes, sculpting new chemicals somehow portrayed a sense of imperfection being attempted to correct. “Doctoring them”, as my one friend would say, in this case it referred to when solutions were being tested, retested, approved and declined.
