Nothing left to give, nothing to hold
No words that aren't already used, already old
No stories left inside that haven't yet been told

On this day, I have no love inside my heart
Nothing to die for, no place to start
No ending in sight. No way to part.
No beauty to be made. No hope for art.

On this day, I finally come unglued.
My thoughts are insipid and repeatedly reused
There's nothing rare about me. There's nothing new.
I am not special. And neither are you.

On this day, I realize I'm stale
I'm dried up and withered like a serpent's scale
A broken piece of porcelain, jagged and pale
A useless attempt that always seems to fail [comments] => 3 [counter] => 158 [topic] => 32 [informant] => ArloDisarray [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I am hoping that this is not a true story (poem) because it is sad.

Perhaps no one is special or rare but they can be a gem nonetheless and gems can be precious and priceless.

Great poem no matter what the case.

Thank you for an enjoyable read,

Tim

Very interesting write.
But every individual is unique, and there's always going to be one individual that can glue you back together.
That individual is yourself.

I disagree! On this day you had poetry in your soul! And in spite of your eloquent protestations, your muse slipped under the lid and colored your self diagnosis with vivid musical rhythems!
How fortunate we are that your muse has a mind of her own!..and that we could see her between the lines!
Nicely rendered..thank BOTH of you!
