Come sit with me in my garden of love
And I will tell you pretty lies
Stories of my rebel youth
And my rendezvous with spies

Stories to win your heart for me
Of my noble and exciting life
Omitting, though, quite handily
That I already have a wife

Words to lure any simple girl
Into believing I am a prince
When all along I am just a man
But the truth, a heart won’t convince

So I tell you of my wealth and fame
And of my valor so staunch and true
And try to convince you in very short time
That my heart belongs only to you

But the time has come to tell the truth
Confess to my deceit and my lies
Though the truth I’m sure will break your heart
It will release MY soul from this guise

I actually have had this happen to me where he had a wife he "forgot" to mention...then as time went on I guess he must of felt guilty because after he had my heart in the palm of his hands he told me the news and it felt like he just crushed it I am sure he felt better about it tho....Live and Learn I suppose.....great write Sherry and thank you for the kind comments on my work...

Men like this exist??? Nevermind, I know that they do... it's just so horrible that they can string people along like that and never consider anyone's feelings but their own!!! Great write Sherry... (and Lasca, I'm so sorry that someone did that to you. I'd tell you what I think they should do to guys like that but they would probably edit it.) Great write Sherry... this poem brought out a lot of emotion...
