I like the twist at the end....it gives it meaning beyond a declaration of love. I honestly didn't see it coming. Well done.

You write wonderfully. Spelling of course..... But, this little piece is quite nice and it deserves to be in a better format. Some will argue it is open verse....ok....I get that, but then this could also be argued it is a paragraph.

And, the tarnished feeling can come from many things other than men...life is a cloth, we choose our own tarnish in which to rub our souls with and thus determine who we become as people.

Hmm. This leaves me wanting more. I am intrigued, I feel like this is just the beginning and there is more to come.
Keep up the writing.

Relationships can teach us about ourselves…and as you point out "I just wanted it to end from the start". Teach us more..keep writing!

dkquawana ayers,
difficult to know, and once you do
the truth which is so hard
it confounds one for far too long
it happened maybe by mistake
then taken for granted it was lost
never to return it seems
like a lesson that sat
no, not I could ever think it
could happen to me, you see it
happen only to other fools...
this different kind of beauty,
the intelligent kind built within
what turns out to be a weak shell
of a facade.
I don't know...
this is really something that makes me wonder...
well done, bravo
with zero bravado intentioned by the writer

Peace!
