I cannot think of a single moment in my life
That I have not dreamed of her

She has always been in my heart
Looming at the pause of every swell
Of an ancient and denuded star
Seizing the sky with its song

The eighth dream is a sea
No longer deep enough
To surge against the shore

It is the face of craggy cliffs
Windswept and worn

The eighth dream is a reckless fury
A plastic brooch stronger than steel
The memory of grey eyes and teal

It is an old hunger satiated
Left unresolved

The eighth dream

I cannot think of a single moment in my life
That I have not dreamed of her

She has always been in my heart
Looming at the pause of every swell

The eighth dream is a sea
