Array ( [sid] => 177939 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Autumn [time] => 2014-03-14 04:38:01 [hometext] => A poem I wrote for someone very dear to me, that almost describes what they mean to me. [bodytext] =>
The year brings with it four seasons
A changing of time and setting
Alterations to the condition of the air
Moments of joy, sorrow, and despair

The winds of winter throw ice and snow
Sinister currents of cold and pain
Numbing of the extremities
Concealment of serenity

Home feels like either desert or tundra
Either way, snow's trying to get in
Snow seeks shelter in shallow openings
And freezes the flesh that inhabits them

Spring brings a gloomy tune
Downpours of a distraught moon
The sun forced back into the dark
Garments soaked with potential rust

Muddied ground and filthy sidewalks
Seeking to claim your feet as prize
Coaches on the roads tear pavement
With the sound of ripping paper

Summer comes with over-elation
Promises of excitement and fun
And true, these things do come
But with a bit microwave for everyone

The humid air stresses the lungs
And the body perspires in desperation
Homeostasis pandemonium
With half a dozen hobby lithium

But the best season of all
Brings stability to the chaos
Comfort for the stresses
And silence for the discord

Autumn comes in gracefully
With respect for the rest of the year
Patiently nudging summer gone
And delicately awaiting winter's return

Within this time I feel at ease
The weather no longer killing me
It makes me unafraid of her sibling seasons
And then, I welcome them to me [comments] => 3 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 64 [informant] => xHeathenx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ambiguous )
