Confusion's Journey

I've sent my heart on a journey through the years,
as it walks I fill it with tears.
Heartbreaks, slashing my heart with whips,
my heart survived all these awful trips.

The one I gave my trust and respect,

Our hearts are stronger than we think and the journey is well worth it when we reach the end.

A weighty topic, to be sure. I've come to believe that our life is filled with events that rip us asunder and tear at our heart. Also, I have learned there is no perfect person for anyone- does not exist. Granting that allowance as axiomatic, we then can seek to find the person that bugs us the least, and that is the one to hold on to. If that sounds pessimistic, it really isn't. We are all people, and as such, we all have flaws and regrets and our ability to accept (both others and ourselves) is a marker for our growth.

Love the poem...keep at it, man!
