Array ( [sid] => 17776 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Suicidal on Elm Drive [time] => 2003-05-18 20:05:00 [hometext] => A one act play

The characters

Wife Jennifer 35-40ish Good looking, Smart, Capable, Theatre Sister at the local hospital. [bodytext] => Could have married anyone she chose.

Husband Bill 40-45ish Slightly overweight,
nice looking, totally lacking in talent and self-confidence, inherited his fathers bookshop.
Why Jenni chose him we'll never know

The story

Jennifer did not come home last night

Scene 1 The Study

The house is silent. A computer is glowing away to itself, a message on the screen

The sun is eclipsed from the sky now
and all is turned ashen grey
poisoned rain is falling
Darling don't leave me......please stay

(If it's about losing the car, we won't!
I paid off the loan yesterday)

Our Eden is turning to desert
shrivelling back to dust
clouds pass by empty and dry
come back...you must...you must

(If it's about me and Elizabeth
it was only momentary lust)

I will not see tomorrow
the blood has started to pour
from the slit I've cut in my wrist
I don't want to live anymore

(Don't worry about the carpets
I've put newspapers over the floor)

My soul is leaving my body
icicles pierce my heart
no longer feeling pain now
as my journey to hell makes it's start.

(There's plenty of food in the fridge dear
this morning I went down the 'mart)

SCENE 2 Jenni returns (Last nights operation at the hospital went wrong..........
they were there all night and this morning)

Now hold on right there gentle reader
This is Jennifer (I didn't go)
He's lying half dead on the floor here
with my tourniquet stopping the flow

(but what's all this about him and Elizabeth
If it's lecherous, I might leave him go)

Don't fall for this junk that he's written
It certainly doesn't fool me
the whole "bloody" lot is plagiarized
from his "playmates" in YPDC

(and he's only lost about half a pint
it wouldn't feed a flea)

I'll have to slip straight round next door then
and see if young Liz turns bright red
when I show her this "moment of lust" bit
"All perfectly proper " she said.

(At Hanks when you both got drunk Jen'
it was me who put him to bed)

"There was nowhere for him to sleep
so I drove him back to your house
Does he think I led him astray then?
The conceited big headed louse."

(He was forty, fat and drunk Jen'
but more to the point he's your spouse)

SCENE 3 Jenni has put "the corpse" to bed

So we're keeping the car, it's all paid for
I'll take it and buy him a tank full
and at last, he's keeping the house nice
If I'd cash I'd give him a bank full

(and for what he's about to receive (tonight)
may the Lord make him truly thankfull)

thoughts wander through my head
for the poem i have read
bob, this poem is awesome
from the norm you sure have blossomed
i love the dark, as you know
you've etched the surface, begun to grow
yet, put you humour amongst the pain
you are fresh, just like the rain...

(i love this "play"... i just love it!)
blessings... michele

Just like old times
so where do we end up
this one is tongue in cheek
bit of a send up

I've had to apologise
To Dreamweaver and 'rose
for suggesting some verses
got right up my nose

I expect it to appear
in a couple of days
and from here on forever
start mending my ways

I'm glad you liked this one
It took lots more brain
twill now be some time
till I try it again

In order to fully understand the action,
I have printed the full page to analyse.
British idiom may impede me a bit..
We'll see....I'll be back with a comment
as soon as I understand at a percent
more than 78%

Yes this cyberspace communication is presenting me with the same problem. Idiom, spelling, new phrases, vocabulary.

If you would like to pick out the particular bits that elude you i will explain.
