Did it for his country people because his country apartheid tore
Nelson Mandella was this man stood Winnie by his side
One of man kinds greatest he stood tall with country pride

Came December this year fifth twenty thirteen being the year
When people in this world for him did shed a tear
Mandella now he was dead he died aged ninty five
In a South African hospital many wishing was still alive

For a little while this man in his country president became
Where Dignitary's the world around gave encore's to his name
He stood tall and firm direction he knew to go
All his years inside a cell he wasn't rendered slow

But now he's dead and gone know his name will live
In the heart's of his people his life for them did give
So Mandella he's a hero To South Africian's they will say
Where many a world pilgrim will come to kneel and pray
