My mind like my coffee, instant brew.
Tethering on unknown shopping channels selling us the latest wares.
We are not even history, we make up what we don't want to believe.
Waiting in lines and lights, waiting for the right shade.
Plastic cards like surgery changing our outlook but nothing from within.
Words spoken through corporate gadgets, eye on every page.

We are told what to wear.
A line of same faced plastered smiles waiting for our series to begin.
Water cooler discussions of Hollywood's latest fallen star.
The media an outlet for the criminally insane.
All wearing our Sunday best.

We are not here to change history.
We are reminded of the mistakes but never the right steps to move forward.
Photoshopped beauties line the racks showing us how average we are.
Promising with the right cream or airbrush we could be beautiful to.
Forgetting how beautiful we really are.
This is fodder for the soulless.
Mindscape for those who want to keep us inline, online.
Lost in their divided insanity.

We are more then bathroom scribbles.
More then one sided views from a hive set to enslave then set free.
This is the universe and like all things in it we matter, we are all matter.
We can only look out our private window for so long before the true face of the world spills through.
And this view is not good.

Let us take the right step then the left.
Do not let slumber be the cure for a darkened road ahead.
Don't let them tell you who you are on the outside.
While ignoring the great person you are in.
For you are great.

Together we can be the now and forgive the then.
Forgive those who blind us in gold chains.
Then forget about those who have forgotten what it is like to be sane.
We must be the example.
So tomorrow will not have the same excuse we were born with.
Let us all lead by example.
So we all have a fighting chance.

I hide behind my own excuse often like a child chided yet knowing right from wrong, channeling the condition of those I rely on whom I wish to think know better.

You are so right to think that on the inside lies a persons greatness waiting to meet the challenge of jumping out from a covered shadowy sense of any habit forming view.

The problems are all right there where always they sit or sat waiting for those who wish to see them, one by one, the problems once seen can be resolved. You do need to step out sometimes all on your own and carve out a new path --- your unconscious mind sometimes tells you that you can, sometimes you might accidently stumble upon your own methodology you never new that you had.

A good day is one you will remember with others, or at least thinking of others if you might have found yourself to be all alone, and a bad one is something you survived never able, no matter how you try to ever forget. For that bad day you sometimes need a lot of help from others. And that's important to know.

Thanks for your perspective in words...

Peace!

Wow now you have got it going here.
You show your heart and good soul in this master peace. You grabbed me with the first word and kept my attention.
Need less to say this is my kindda writing.
Big huggs, smiles, blessings,
emy

I really enjoyed reading your musings on life. It's a crazy, unfair world, book-ended on one side by gimcrack gadgets and diets. On the other by wooden crutches and famine.
As you, so rightly, point out: ' We are reminded of the mistakes but never the right steps to move forward.'

Hi,

''we are reminded of the mistakes but never the right steps to move forward.''

If this had been the only line you had written then it would have summed up all before and all afterwards.

Powerful, thought-provoking, and oh so true!
Fortunately, if we care to look for it, there is Hope too.
