Facing an enemy unseen.
Let our battle cry sing.
Our minds drawn to better days will begin.

Walking out of dying embers, a people asleep at the wheel.
Seeing the lands of Babylon crumble, guided by sheep in the field.
Behind closed doors, youtube disinformation weakens the soul.
Does it matter if truth gets filled, as long as viewer numbers soar.
Media hiding information, spreading watered down intellect.
As long as wars are covered by expenses, higher the ratings get.

Here we are in the ring.
Facing an enemy that's seen
Forgetting how our battle cry sings.
Our minds the battle begins.

Wayward children caught in the grips of TV.
No authority to hold over, taught that riches set them free.
Blind leaving the others at bay.
A soundtrack of destruction in the ear buds play.
No room for another, brought up to fight for number one.
Yolo in the mindset, praising dying young.

Here we are holding the ropes in the ring.
Knocked down too many times from countless enemies unseen.
A sea of voices singing a different battle cry.
If not now we stand our ground our futures will go dry.

On soapboxes we raise our concerns to the world.
Liking on Facebook we feel we have done our work.
It will take more then tweets to change this darkened time.
Knowledge on and blinders off, paying attention to these crimes.

It takes more then words to ignite a sullen hearts.
Action is the only way to start.
Putting down opinions, to stand for what is right.
Safety for all is a song we a have to fight.
For all those that live under the sun.
Plants, animals and humans, are plight all equals one.

Here we are in the ring.
Divided is the enemies sting.
Let all of our hearts sing.
Together is where we begin.

I love the entire tone of the poem. What a strong beginning! Sets the mood for the rest, a battle cry indeed. More like a shock-treatment for the masses. Loved these lines:

"On soapboxes we raise our concerns to the world.
Liking on Facebook we feel we have done our work.
It will take more then tweets to change this darkened time.
Knowledge on and blinders off, paying attention to these crimes."

Knocks the thick skulls of the sensational media and masses of our time. Excellent write, the poem flows nincely, liked the Babylon metaphor and the Sheep.

"A sea of voices singing a different battle cry.
If not now we stand our ground our futures will go dry.

Prophetic!
