In life are you always fair?
Would you offer an old lady your chair.
Do you reach out your hand to give.
Or hold both only to receive.
Why on earth are we so self centered?
At some stage in life we were all mentored.
On what is the right thing to do.
Cause heaven knows we don't want to stand in another's shoes.
Yet through our thoughtless actions.
We allow our foolish decisions.
To affect the lives of our neighbors.
And turn everything they do into labor.
We as humans only want to take.
Believe me this is a horrendous mistake.
When we all start to give.
We shall certainly all receive!

Good poem and good point. We all start out as "me me me". It just depends on our choices and environment from then on. Thoughtful subject matter. Blessings, S.
