With a push and a shove
If you venture too close
Your world will disappear in smoke
Into the darkness
Where life is a blur

You must never love a person too much
Lest controlling hands
Around your delicate heart clutch
Constricting the blood
Pain overcomes you in a flood
Affection fleeing in a manic rush

You must never love a person too much
If this life you wish to survive
Study well the face
Find the truth in their eyes
Do not let love grow
Beyond what you can control
Never love a person too much

Part of me agrees exactly to a T with this poem. The other part of me is yelling "no! how could you love someone too much?"
But nevertheless this is a very nice poem!
With love ;)

I feel that your telling us about trusting too much…which is surely unwise.
Strange how we all have to learn that the hard way!
Your poem is worth remembering!
Thank you for sharing it.

There is now way in being sure that the person you fall for is in less, just as much, or more love than you. It's just a mystery waiting to be uncovered in the long run. Either way It can be beyond lovely while it lasts and completely devastating when it ends.

Yeah, I understand this poem. If you love a person with everything then what happens when they decide to leave you? Your whole being will be shattered and you will feel like the living dead. I never ever wish to feel like that. Not again. Its a messed up feeling, one that makes you wish to stop breathing. But then again, if you don't love someone that much then you are missing something important in life. You are missing out on all out, no holds bared love. And that kind of love is kinda amazing. Best wishes♥
