I DID MY PART AND MADE A MESS OF ME

GAVE MYSELF A BLOODY HISTORY

YOU DID YOUR PART OPENED THE DOOR FOR ME

LETS SLIP THROUGH BEFORE SOMEONE SEES

I USED TO WONDER HOW IT FELT TO "BE"

THOUGHT I DIDN'T EXIST YOU SEE

WALKIN MY PATH NOT CARIN' WHERE IT LEADS

NOW I'M HERE IT'S SO CLEAR TO ME

I CONFESS IT'S A LOVE OF LABOR

HAD A DEATH GRIP AROUND MY PAIN

THOUGHT THE WORLD IT OWED ME A FAVOR

SO WHY AM I OUT HERE IN THE RAIN?

DUG DOWN SO DEEP THE AIR WAS HARD TO BREATHE

HATE & GUILT KEPT ME COMPANY

TIGHTENED MY GRIP AROUND MISANTHROPY

'TIL IT WOKE UP THE GOD IN ME

I CONFESS IT'S A LOVE OF LABOR

HAD A DEATH GRIP AROUND MY PAIN

THOUGHT THE WORLD IT OWED ME A FAVOR

SO WHY AM I OUT HERE IN THE RAIN?

YES I CONFESS IT'S A LOVE OF LABOR

SO MUCH MORE THAN A SLIGHT REFRAIN

I'M LAYIN' ALL OF MY CARDS ON THE TABLE

I'M HEADED BACK TO THE SOURCE AGAIN

brilliant writing, poem that actually comes from deep meaningful experience,, like a mantra,, ive noticed so many people recently seem to be writing poetry about this enlightening experience in unique individual ways yet the essence at the core remains the same ,stable, and recognisable to those who have been called and have journied thier way along the same neurological path ways, and the number just keeps on growing,, we are all connected i think and this spiritual awakening we are going through is like a mexican wave or chainmail , it only takes one to trigger another and then those two trigger two others and so on , its quantum entanglement in action,, i guess im rambling on so anyway ,, loved your poem and its significance, xxx

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
